Is La Louve Private Hair Academy accredited?

Yes. La Louve was one of the first private providers accredited by the Services SETA, and is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as a Private Further Education and Training College.

What hairdressing courses does La Louve offer?

La Louve offers three pathways: Full-Time Classes (Monday to Friday, theory and practical salon training), Part-Time Classes (one day per week academy classes alongside salon work), and Skill Specific Classes (individual skills programmes at your own pace).

Where is La Louve Private Hair Academy located?

La Louve is based in Montana Park, Pretoria, South Africa.

What qualification will I graduate with?

Students train toward the National Certificate in Hairdressing (SAQA), with the opportunity to obtain the internationally recognised City & Guilds Level 2 qualification through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

How long has La Louve been training hairstylists?

La Louve was founded in 2004 and has been training hairstylists in Pretoria for over two decades, including graduates who have gone on to compete and work internationally.

How old do I need to be?

You need to be at least 16 years old to enrol, with Grade 10 (or equivalent, NQF Level 1) as the minimum entry requirement.

Can I study part-time?

Yes. Alongside Full-Time classes, we offer Part-Time (one academy day a week while you work in a salon) and Evening Classes on Wednesdays for those working during the day.

Can I work while studying?

Yes — our Part-Time and Evening Class pathways are specifically built around working in a salon while you study, typically taking two to three years to complete.

Can I become a salon owner?

Many of our graduates go on to open and run their own salons, alongside others who become senior stylists, colourists, freelance stylists, and international stylists.

Can I work overseas?

Yes. Alongside the National Certificate: Hairdressing, students can add the internationally recognised City & Guilds qualification, which opens doors to working abroad.

What happens after I finish?

You graduate with the National Certificate: Hairdressing (SAQA ID 102497, NQF Level 4), with the option to also hold the City & Guilds international qualification — ready to work in a salon, freelance, or start building toward ownership.
